Have you ever traveled the seven seas? What about the more mystical and dangerous waters of your imagination. I invite you to step aboard The Treacherous Jolly Roger and take up arms with your new captain, James Hook and pledge your loyalty to a cause worth fighting for! Treasure and riches await those brave enough and possibly foolish enough to sign on for the pirate's life. Leave all your troubles on land and dive into the sea, feel the mist on your face, grow a raggedy beard, sharpen your cutlass, and grab hold of your wits on board the beautiful, the deceiving, the Treacherous Jolly Roger.I began building this set because of my love for pirate ships mixed with a rekindled joy of watching Peter Pan with my children and seeing Captain Hook and Peter Pan duke it out. As I watched this movie I really payed attention to Captain Hook's ship, the Jolly Roger and was amazed by how beautiful it is and how the movie seemed to gloss over the ship with the adventure of Pan, the lost boys, and the Darlings. I decided to build the Jolly Roger and try to portray the immensity and absolute awesomeness of this dark red and gold ship. Features of the ship include: A large grimacing skull at the bow (front) of the ship that is hugged by rib-like railing transitioning into the beautiful deep dark red railing throughout the rest of the ship. Large masts, custom crow's nests, and rigging that are made of individual parts of string, cylinders, rounds, and cones instead of the traditional rigging and mast pieces of past ship builds. Gold cannons: 4 on the top deck in the mid-section of the ship, and 2 more located aft (to the rear) of the ship. These 2 rear cannons can fend off the pesky police of the seas of even other pirates looking to try to steal Captain Hook's plunder. The 2 rear cannons are on hinge plates which allow them to be angled for the far reaching cannon strike or a closer quarter battle. There are also swinging doors that can hide the rear cannons until the perfect time to strike! A large menacing skull and crossbones at the stern (back) of the ship warns those who may see the Jolly Roger, not to follow her or she may strike and send those fools down to the depths. This portion is directly above the captain's quarters. The captain's quarters feature Hook's bed, gun rack with flintlock pistols, a large gold piano fitted with Mr. Smee's secret bottle stash towards the back (which has a functional lid like he used in the movie), a bucket of water for when Hook was sick after a run-in with the ticking crocodile, and a jar with a custom made mini Tinkerbell statue with wings. On the outside of these quarters there are curved port windows and a swinging door with the custom printed sign "Quiet, Do not disterb" hammered onto it by Mr. Smee while Hook was ill.
