The smell of pupusas, fried plantains, grilled corn, quesadillas and other traditional food permeated the crisp fall air during the Hispanic Festival at the Harris Pavilion in old town Manassas. Adults listened to Latin music and sampled Tex-Mex and Mexican cuisine while children romped on an air-filled slide or had their faces painted. During the afternoon kids were given the opportunity to whack at three candy-filled piatas and collect the goodies when the pi֖atas burst.
