Each of our sturdy swings are Handwoven with new lobster rope which is designed to hoist lobster traps from the ocean floor. This new commercial fishing rope is designed to withstand the elements of the North Atlantic and is used in the lobstering industry off the coast of Maine. The ends are Hand Spliced together using the same technique that has been used by seaman for centuries. Each swing comes with 15 feet of rope to tie onto your existing swing set, tree or porch. Longer lengths are available at $1 per foot (1 ft. purchased will extend both hang ropes by 1 ft.). Please feel free to contact us for more information. The seat is approximately 8”x 26”. Hanging Tips: While you can simply tie the ropes securely to a tree branch, we recommend using two heavy-duty eye bolts and two heavy duty S-hooks, available at any hardware store. (Hardware not included with swing). Screw eye bolts securely into sturdy branch. Attach one end of S-hook into eye bolt and hitch knot each rope onto the other end of each S-hook. Rope ends are cut and cauterized to prevent fraying. **DISCLAIMER** Rope wear will vary over time depending on its location, use, and hanging method.
