PENN has left no stone unturned to develop an outstanding surfcasting reel. These include a stiff and lightweight XRC carbon body and rotor, a durable CNC machined gearbox made from high quality metals and a virtually impermeable, sealed brake with HT-100 carbon discs that won't let a drop of water, dirt or sand inside. It is the perfect package for the discerning surf angler, regardless of whether you choose the 7000 or 8000 size.

The key advantage of this durable reel lies in its casting behavior. The Rocket Spool design is specifically designed to facilitate precise and long casts. This is partly due to the shape and design of the spool, but also due to PENN's innovative X-Slow Leveline technology, which allows the reel to achieve more than 50 line wraps per spool turn. This means perfect line laying, with the line flying freely from the spool from cast to cast. This also makes retrieving long casts much easier.

No less than 9+1 sealed ball bearings contribute to silky-smooth performance when retrieving or fighting a fish, while the quick-drag system allows for quick switching between brake functions and free spool allows.
