The Samurai is an innovative project of the Oceanic Team for an eging rod whose construction was based on the specific needs of the Greek fisherman after collecting information from all over Greece. As the main need emerged the size of our fishing rod, especially in the rocky areas and on the beaches, as it was observed that the long cast was often the determining factor for success. After a lot of testing, the longer length option at 8.9΄΄ (2.68m) proved to be best while Fuji's long-footed Fazlite K guides offered adequate friction damping so the cast didn't stop abruptly. The next bet was for the rod to simultaneously have a feeling of the squid box, perception of the hit, good jerk behavior without being slow or medium slow, losing all the virtues in casting. The end result was more than expected, with an incredible feel of handling all the squid sizes we usually use in eging (#2.5, #3.0 & #3.5) and bonus the unparalleled casting under all conditions. A unique rod aimed purely at the Mediterranean eging and its peculiarities and not another rod that tries to imitate the Japanese way of fishing which is far from our standards. In the individual components, the Samurai has a 33cm handle ideal for jerks and good grip when throwing, mechanism base with a special design to become one with our hand, PE Line #0.6-#1.0, Egi Weight #2.5-#4.0 and low weight for its type at 143gr.
