The Hitch Hiker 2 is a popular, steel hybrid device which tends and assists your friction hitch in both SRS and MRS climbing.HH2 advances smoothly and engages instantly when weighted, with easy slack tending. A stopper knot is tied on one side of the “dog bone” at the top of the device, then the hitch tied as normal. The tail is passed back through the dog bone and a second stopper tied.The dog bone tends the hitch on ascent. The pressure of the dog bone and carabiner on the rope takes some of the pressure of your body weight off the hitch, which is what lets you climb on your friction hitch in SRS.
