Offered is a rare, antique, new old stock, Spanish silk fly fish line made of Spanish silkworm gut. Silk fishing line was made of silk being before being replaced prior to WW2 by nylon and types of fiberglass. This item is in wonderful condition considering its age. I would date this item c. 1850s-1945s. I am unsure of the exact date. I was unable to obtain information on the manufacturer for this item. The cardboard has some wear, water spots, and browning to the cardboard. The flaps that hold the line are very fragile. The paper on each side looks like they it was cut, maybe the original shape. Review pictures closely. I will be happy to send additional pictures. What an awesome piece for fishing enthusiast or advertising collector.
