This absolute mint Crazy Crawler is from the introductory year of 1940. We will highlight the items that affirm that this is an introduction version. This 2100 model has the Donely hardware, is 2 3/4 inches long,3/4 ounces,has 3/C eyes,distinct moustache. Now the age confirming features: it has the older tail hardware (See photo with arrow) and the phrase “PAT” on a wing without the patent number issued later (1,677,176). Notice the intricate scaled red highlight that forms the demarcation between the upper and lower ribs. This only occurred on the first year of this Crawler color after a few months this was a solid black line. Also the literature is on one sided light green paper. This was soon changed to better white paper and printed on both sides. This lure is mint and the combination of lure/box/ literature is unlikely to be upgraded. This early introductory 2100XRW is a great addition to any collection
