As North American strip-till acres continue to grow, Case IH has rolled out a redesigned strip-till applicator — the Nutri-Tiller 955. It's a one-pass seedbed prep unit that looks after crop residue, soil tilth and nutrient availability, explains Dave Long, Case IH's seeding equipment and fertilizer applicators marketing manager, in this video filmed at the 2016 Farm Progress Show in Iowa. The 955 features a different shank assembly than previous Nutri-Tiller models — the high clearance shank is designed to keep the knife and shank aligned for uniform operating depth and precise nutrient placement, he says. "Minimal shank deflection with the 1¼-inch by 2-inch edge-bent shank, combined with the mount’s holding force, helps the HCS ST maintain a constant depth for uniform berms and accurate nutrient placement," he explains.
